Ticket Sales
Tickets will be available in December from the Launceston Travel and Information Centre. Tickets will also be sold at the gate
Please Note - Carer concession cards accepted, no concession for students or pensioners, Smoke Free (please note there will not be a designated smoking area), bag searches at the gates, no BYO, tickets non-refundable.
What to bring to New Year on Royal
A warm jacket for a cool evening, suitable ID for those over 18 who wish to purchase alcohol, a picnic blanket or your own fold up seating or a cushion for sitting on the levee, personal umbrella/rain coat in case of wet weather, cash and credit card – but remember there is no Eftpos facility available at New Year on Royal.
What is permitted at New Year on Royal
Bottled water and soft drink (but not glass bottles), food, soft chiller/cooler bags, fold up chairs, still cameras, mobile phones, personal umbrellas, picnic rugs, Festivale & New Year on Royal glasses
What is NOT permitted at New Year on Royal
Soft drink or water in glass bottles, glassware, knives, shade structures & large umbrellas, alcohol, BBQ's & fire pots, tables, fireworks, animals, dangerous goods, weapons, bikes & skateboards,small and large hard eskies, drugs.
Entry Points
Park Street , boardwalk at Home Point, disabled/pram entry is via Park Street.
Pass Outs
Pass out stamps will be issued from the gates up until 11.15pm. No entry or pass outs after 11.15pm.
Getting There
Metro will operate $2 Night Rider services on New Year’s Eve. The services are provided with the support of the Motor Accidents Insurance Board (MAIB). Nightrider services are a safe, convenient and affordable way for people to get to and from New Year’s Eve celebrations. A $2 cash fare applies for all Nightrider services and regular Metro services after 7pm on New Year’s Eve. Services operate through various suburbs until approximately 2:30am New Year’s Day.

A taxi rank will operate from outside Tio Rico in Paterson Street opposite Launceston College from 9.30pm
Parking
Parking will be available in Paterson Street East Car Park for a fee of $2 from Monday, 31 December 5.30pm until Tuesday 1 January, 12.30am. There will be free parking available in the Launceston City Council Bathurst Street Car park from 5.30pm. Park Street will be closed to all traffic from 2pm on December 31. If you require disabled parking please contact the Festivale office in the week leading up to the event.
