Festivale Plate Awards 2012
Each year the Festivale Committee recognises the outstanding efforts of stallholders by awarding the Festivale Plate Awards. In 2012 the awards will be judged by Valli Little, Food Director, Delicious Magazine, Graceie Neuhof, 2011 Junior Masterchef, Top 20 and Martin Gilmour, Editor Examiner Newspaper in the following categories:
- Festivale Plate Awards 2012
- Festivale Dessert Plate
- Festivale Taste Plate
- Festivale New Plate
- Festivale Green Plate
- Festivale People's Plate (Sponsored by The Examiner Newspaper)
Judging
Judging will take place on Saturday 11 February and winners will be announced at 5.50pm from the Frontline Stage.
Festivale encourages all stallholders to aim for high standards in terms of visual presentation, atmosphere, customer service, use of Tasmanian products and menu, regulatory compliance, environmentally friendly and adherence to Festivale guidelines.
Criteria for Judging Stalls
Stalls will be judged on the following criteria:
- Visual Presentation of Stall - Attractive design, contemporary festival style, practical layout of stall, e.g. use of space and flow of movement.
- Atmosphere, Service and Hospitality - Professionalism, speed and attentiveness of service, degree of product knowledge. Staff should be friendly with a high standard of personal presentation. A touch of theatre is always well received.
- Product/Menu - Presentation, freshness and creativity, authenticity of style and product, selection, pricing and reflected portion sizes. Use and promotion of Tasmanian products.
- Requirements - Adherence to health, hygiene and safety regulations and adherence to Festivale guidelines eg. food types.
- Reduce-reuse-recycle -Festivale encourages environmentally friendly recycling practices that have minimal effect on the environment
