Festivale is turning 21

Festivale is turning 21 and everyone is invited to come and join the celebrations in Launceston’s historic City Park.

For three days - Friday, February 13 – Sunday, February 15 - Festivale 2009 will offer a menu of quality Tasmanian food and wine mixed with music, dance and street theatre. The event is expected to attract a crowd in excess of 45,000 patrons.

Festivale will feature about 70 food and wine stalls, all featuring Tasmanian-grown and Tasmanian-made produce. Newcomers on the ‘food and wine trail’ include Wursthaus At Olivers, Fish’n’Chips, Bruny island Cheese and Bishop’s Vineyard.

The State’s most prestigious wineries – Clover Hill, Josef Chromy and Moores Hill Estate among them - as well as many highly regarded boutique wines will be available. Wine will be available for tasting as well as by the glass.

Festivale is also about entertainment. From funky reggae and groove to retro disco and big band sounds, the entertainment programme will feature a non-stop line-up from three stages around the park each day.
